Jerry Kazanjian is a Registered Patent Attorney at Chapin Intellectual Property Law, LLC, where his practice focuses on the analysis, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, both domestic and foreign. Prior to joining the firm, Jerry worked at Fish & Richardson and Hamilton, Brook, Smith and Reynolds, two of the largest patent/IP law firms in New England. Since joining Chapin IP Law, Jerry has continued his practice and has substantial experience managing complex patent portfolios including drafting and prosecuting patents, as well as counseling and advising clients regarding intellectual property matters including market position, licensing opportunities, and performing due diligence investigations and infringement studies.

Jerry has an excellent technical background in software, computers, electronics, communications, semiconductors, nanostructures, mechanics, electro-mechanics and physics-based technologies. Prior to entering the legal profession, Jerry was employed as a Software Engineer at General Dynamics C4 Systems in Taunton, Massachusetts where he developed and tested new features for military voice-over-IP communications systems. In addition, he was responsible for simplifying system testing software and facilitated troubleshooting test platform hardware.

Jerry earned a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Scientific Computation from Boston College, and focused his studies on electromagnetism, quantum physics, computer science and nanotechnology. He has significant research experience in synthesis, characterization and applications of carbon nanotubes and oxide nanowires. Jerry earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School, concentrating his coursework on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright, Internet, entertainment and sports. He served as a writer and Site Editor of the Intellectual Property and Technology Forum and as a writer and Managing Editor of the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest. Jerry is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Jerry Kazanjian is also a member of the Boston Patent Law Association.
